After that, Jahangir, the son of Akbar, made some altercations and addition to this fort. Then came lover of white marble Emperor Shah Jahan who destroyed some palaces built by Emperor Akbar and Jahangir. He replaced them with white marble. It is a UNESCO World Heritage. Taj Mahal: Emperor Shah Jahan, the fifth Mughal Emperor, built it in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is the most symmetric building in the world. The Emperor took the services of twenty thousand workers to get the Taj Mahal completed in twenty-two years. It is the finest example of Indo-Persian architecture, based on Char Bagh’s geometrical pattern. The principal mausoleum is at the end, and four gardens are in front of the Taj Mahal. It also provides optical illusions. Shadows and lights affect deployed brilliantly to exemplify the beauty of this wonder.

The Palace of Tansen, the famous musician who has the power to develop rain clouds and ignite an oil lamp, is one of the architectural wonders to be appreciated here. It took ten years to build this massive city. Due to lack of water, it was abandoned within eight years of occupation. This is the reason it is called ‘The Ghost City.’
