Auli: It is situated at 2800 meters above sea level and has the longest skiing slopes in Asia. The shimmering white slopes covered with fresh snow are a paradise for photography and skiing enthusiasts.

It is part of the Nanda Devi mountain ranges of the Himalayas. Nanda Devi Peak, the world’s third-highest peak, is the crown of Auli, and when rays of the sun touch this peak, it turns orange. The sunrise and sunsets are memorable experiences. The silence and serene surroundings on one side are mountain ranges and on the other side is a dense forest of oak and pine. The combination gives a thrilling sight. There is also an artificial lake to collect water from the melting snow. The reflection of the snow-covered peaks provides a mesmerizing experience. It is easy on a gradient from where one can have 360 degrees view of complete Himalayan ranges. There is a cable car from Joshimath for Auli, which takes around eighteen minutes to reach Auli. Sometimes, due to heavy snowfall in winters, the road to Auli from Joshimath remains closed. The ropeway is only a medium of travel to Auli. This destination provides activities and scenic beauty both in summer and winters, so it can be called the round the year destination.

Khirsu: The altitude of Khirsu is 1700 meters and is an offbeat destination. It offers virgin natural beauty and rustic charismatic surroundings. Its pleasant weather in summers and mildly cold weather in winters makes it a perfect round-the-year destination. In summer, it presents apple orchards, step farming of the natives in the background of the thick green forest of Pine and Oak forest, a fascinating experience to its visitors, and unforgettable sunsets. In the winters, the changing colors of the snow-covered peaks at different times of the day is quite a spectacular view. One can view around 250 peaks of the mountains on a clear day from Khirsu.
