Prayagraj: Prayagraj on the confluence of three rivers, i.e., Ganga, Yamuna, and mythological Saraswati, called ‘Triveni Sangam. Lord Brahma, the creator of this universe, conducted ten yagn (Religious Rituals), making it one of the most revered religious places for Hindus. As all God’s creations are part of the cosmos, similarly, all Hinduism’s holy places originated from Prayagraj. There are only two distinctive places described in ancient Hindu scriptures to differentiate Holy Places. The first one is where all the wishes of worldly life are full filled. The second one is where one can attain Moksha, the freedom from the cycle of life and death. The religious and spiritual significance of Prayagraj lies in the fact that it offers both. Suppose someone takes a bath in ‘Triveni Sangam.’ will be blessed, irrespective of caste, creed, race or physical appearance, and cultural background. Maha Kumbh Mela, the largest assembly of people in this universe, takes place at Triveni Sangam every twelve years. Ardh Kumbh Mela takes place every six years in Prayagraj.
Ayodhya: On the bank of River Saryu lies the city of Ayodhya. Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Rama, the operator of this universe and incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is an important religious and spiritual destination to be enlightened about practices, Tantras, rituals, and beliefs of Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. There are numerous Hindu and Jain colorful temples. The Ram Janam Bhoomi temple is the main attraction along with Jain temples. Lord Laxman, the younger brother of Lord Rama, had gone to the heavenly abode at Laxman Ghat from River Saryu. Out of 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism, five Tirthankaras were born here. Their temples are constructed at their birthplace, making it a must pilgrimage place for Jainism. Lord Buddha lived here for sixteen years, making it a special place for Buddhists. The affluence of this city in Hindu scriptures matches that of heaven.
